From the Prophetic Lamp (4) concerning the help of his family

([All] praise is [due] to Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Him belongs [all] praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Aware.) [Surah Saba: 1].
Our Lord, for You is the praise in all the heavens and all the earth and all that which please You besides them. I bear witness that there’s no god but Allah, the One. He’s no partner. I bear witness that Muhammad is the slave of Allah and His messenger. The one who followed him and complied to his orders, made his heart pure, words beautiful and soul high. Blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, his family, his companions, their followers and those who followed them in goodness till the Day of Judgement. To proceed:
I advise myself and you to have the fear of Allah and taking the provisions of good deeds, (So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We [i.e., Our angels], of it, are recorders.) [Al-Anbiyaa: 94].
The slaves of the Most Merciful: come let’s have a view into the prophet’s household, the household from which Allah removed impurity and purified it completely. Let’s view through an opening let open by our mother Aayesha due to queries from some ‘Taabiyeen’ regarding the condition of that public figure that was shouldering the burdens of the nation. They’re curious to know how was his condition when entered into his home and closed his door?!
Bukhari transmitted in his ‘Sahih’ through his chain of narration from Al-Aswad that he said: I asked 'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her): "What did Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do inside his house?" She answered: "He used to keep himself busy helping members of his family, and when it was the time for Salat (the prayer), he would get up for prayer."
According to a narration of Ahmad: “'A'isha was asked: ‘What was Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) accustomed to doing in his home?’ She said: ‘He was a normal human being. He used to examine his clothes for lice, milk his sheep and serve himself.’” Al-Albaani has declared it to be of Sahih grade.
According to a narration in Sahih Ibn Hibban: “He mended his sandals, sewed his garments and patched his baskets."
Fiends, let’s look at some pauses:
The first pause: “He was a normal human being”. So, he would enter his house not as a leader or commander but as a husband so that he lives the life of a husband with his family, a simple family with all its simplicity and spontaneity.
The second pause: she said: “He would keep himself busy in serving his family”. There’s a question here. Would our mother Aayesha complain of a lot of work and difficulties that the prophet had to help her?! Did his room not have its walls close to one another and as small area as its length would not reach tencubits and breadth seven cubits?!In today’s calculations, it’s approximately five meters by three and half meters! It’s the area of a room of our homes these days. Allah is the One whose help is sought!
Did not she inform that months after months would come and fire would not be lit to cook food! Two months would pass and sometimes more, and she would not cook food. Their food was date and water!
Then, she was young and did not have children to be busy with! So, was there was a work that needed effort?! Let alone any work that required help?!
The help carries deeper meaning, which is consolation and expressing care by participating in marital life and realising one of the meanings of finding tranquility in the wife, (And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them.) [Al-Rum: 21]. Allah, the Glorious did not say: “so that you may find tranquility with them”.
The third pause: We peep from this window into the house of the prophet which is small in area, simple in its belonging, but big in delight, love, friendliness and co-operation. The fountain of happiness, joy and good life flowed in it.
According to her statement concerning his character: “He was a normal man except that he would laugh and smile a lot”. There was no fake respect nor frowning face, rather the beauty of soul and friendliness of smile!
The fourth pause: initiative from the husband for an expressive participation and delightful friendly gesture will occupy the biggest area in the heart and intuition of his wife, and will turn his presence into happiness and absence into loneliness!
Dear friends: whoever suffers from the coldness and dryness of marital life must benefit from this prophetic lesson so that warm blood runs in their life like these captivating touches of participation in work and smiling and radiating face!
May Allah benefit me and you from the Book and the Sunnah and the signs and wisdom they contain, Seek the forgiveness of Allah. He’s the All-Forgiving.

All praises be to Allah who said: (There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern1 for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.) [Al-Ahzaab: 33]. Blessings and peace of Allah be upon the mercy personified and blessing endowed Muhammad bin Abdullah, and on his family and companions. To proceed:
This balance in the prophet’s life amazes us. So, the prophet would smile a lot with the people. He would laugh and smile a lot in his house too. He was like the wind blowing with goodness with people and would be busy helping his family in his house. He was the best of the people for the people and for his family.
This balance may be missing in the people who are very fine in their public interactions, but wear frowning face and boring look with their families! Blessings and peace of Allah be upon the one who gladdened people by his good conduct and whose family was the happiest due to his good behaviour with his family.
Dear audience, this prophetic lesson is an open lesson to all those who misunderstood the meaning of guardianship and selected it for showing hollow superiority and expanding the phenomena of domination, and is seen frowning and heard commanding and warning.
To conclude: May Allah be pleased with our mother Aayesha who lived due to the wisdom of Allah after the demise of the prophet for about half a century like an open window into the household of the prophet. The nation of the prophet would see through him the way of its prophet. May Allah be pleased with her, please her and reward her from the nation of the prophet Muhammad in the best and complete way.

Then, send out the blessings and peace…
