الخُطْبَةُ الأُوْلَى

إِنَّ الحَمْدَ لِلهِ، نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ، وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ ونَتُوبُ إِلَيه، مَنْ يَهْدِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ، وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ.

أَمَّا بَعْدُ: فَأُوْصِيْكُمْ وَنَفْسِي بِتَقْوَى اللهِ، فَهِيَ أَسَاسُ الدِّيْنِ، وَالأَصْلُ المَتِيْن! ﴿أفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَى تَقْوَى مِنَ اللهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ خَيْرٌ أَمْ مَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَى شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَانْهَارَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ﴾.

I advise you and myself to uphold God-consciousness (taqwa), for it is the firm foundation of religion and the main principle. Allah says, "Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell?"

 

عِبَادَ الله: إِنَّهُ مَقَامٌ مِنْ مَقَامَاتِ الإِحْسَانِ، وَثَمَرَةٌ مِنْ ثِمَارِ مَحَبَّةِ الرَّحْمَن، وَهُوَ الكَهْفُ الَّذِيْ يَأْوِيْ إِلَيْهِ كُلُّ مُسْتَوْحِشٍ حَيْرَان؛ إِنَّهُ الأُنْسُ بِالله!Servants of Allah, intimacy with Allah is one of the levels of excellence, a fruit of the love of the Most Merciful, and it is the refuge to which every lost soul turns.  

 

وَلَذَّةُ الأُنْسِ بِالله؛ لا يَعْدِلُهَا شَيء! فَأَطْيَبُ العَيْشِ عَلَى الإِطْلاقِ: عَيْشُ المُسْتَأْنِسِينَ! وَحَيَاتُهُمْ هِيَ الحَيَاةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ. ﴿مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً﴾. قالَ أَحَدُ الصَّالِحِين: (لَوْ عَلِمَ المُلُوكُ وَأَبْنَاءُ المُلُوكِ ما نَحْنُ فِيْهِ مِنَ لَذَّةِ الأُنْسِ بِالله؛ لَجَالَدُوْنَا بِالسِّيُوفِ عَلَيْه!).

The delight of intimacy with Allah is unmatched! The best life, without doubt, is the life of those who are intimate with Allah, and their life is the purest life. Allah says, "Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life". One of the righteous once said, "If the kings and their sons knew the delight of companionship with Allah that we are in, they would fight us with swords to take it from us!"

 

وَمَنْ عَرَفَ اللهَ حَقِيْقَةً؛ أَنِسَ بِه، وَاسْتَوْحَشَ مِنْ غَيْرِه، قَدْ شَغَلَهُ الأُنْسُ بِاللهِ، عَنِ الأُنْسِ بِغَيْرِه! وَمَنْ ذَاقَ حَلاوَةَ القُرْبِ مِنَ اللهِ؛ حَصَلَ لَهُ الأُنْسِ.

Whoever truly knows Allah finds comfort in Him and feels estranged from everything else. The intimacy with Allah preoccupies him from seeking intimacy elsewhere. Whoever tastes the sweetness of nearness to Allah achieves intimacy.

 

وَكُلَّمَا اشْتَدَّ القُرْبُ؛ قَوِيَ الأُنْسُ. وَكُلَّمَا زَادَ البُعْدُ؛ قَوِيَتِ الوَحْشَةُ!﴿فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ مِنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ﴾.

And the closer he gets, the stronger the intimacy becomes, and the farther he drifts away, the stronger the sense of loneliness. Allah says, "So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner"

 

وَالأُنْسُ بِاللهِ: ثَمَرَةُ الطَّاعَةِ، فَكُلُّ مُطِيعٍ مُسْتَأْنِسٌ، وَكُلُّ عَاصٍمُسْتَوْحِشٌ. وَكُلَّمَا كَثُرَتِ الذُّنُوبُ؛ اشْتَدَّتِ الوَحْشَةُ! قال ابنُ القَيِّم: (لَوْ لَمْ تُتْرَكِ الذُّنُوبُ إِلَّا حَذَرًا مِنْ تِلْكَ الْوَحْشَةِ؛ لَكَانَ العَاقِلُ حَرِيًّا بِتَرْكِهَا!).

Intimacy with Allah is the fruit of obedience. Every obedient person finds solace, while every disobedient one feels lonely. And the more sins increase, the more loneliness intensifies. Ibn al-Qayyim said, "If sins were to be abandoned only due to the fear of this loneliness, the wise would be most eager to abandon them!"

 

والتَّمَسُّكُ بِالإِسلام؛ بَوَّابَةُ الأُنْسِ والسَّلام؛ فأَيُّ وَحْشَةٍ أَشَدُّ مِنْ ضَيَاعِ الدِّيْن، وَفَقْدِ اليَقِيْن! ﴿فَمَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ أَنْ يَهدِيَهُ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُ لِلْإِسْلَامِ وَمَنْ يُرِدْ أَنْ يُضِلَّهُ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُ ضَيِّقًا حَرَجًا﴾. قالَ المُفَسِّرُون: (النَّعِيمُ التَّامُّ: هُوَ في الدِّيْنِ الحَقِّ: عِلْمًا وَعَمَلًا؛ فَأَهْلُهُ هُمْ أَصحَابُ النَّعِيمِ الكَامِل!).

Holding onto Islam is the gateway to intimacy and peace. For what loneliness could be more severe than losing one's religion and losing certainty? Allah says, "So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted". The commentators say, "Complete happiness is in the true religion: in knowledge and action. Its people are the companions of complete happiness!"

 

والخَلوَةُ بِاللهِ وَمُنَاجَاتُه: تَفْتَحُ نَافِذَةَ الأُنْسِ والقُرْب! قال ﷻ: ﴿وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ﴾. قال بَعْضُ العُلَماء: (غَرْسُ الخَلْوَة؛ يُثْمِرُ الأُنْس!).

Seclusion with Allah and supplication to Him open the window to intimacy and closeness. Allah says, "And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me". Some scholars said, "Planting the seeds of seclusion yields the fruit of intimacy!"

 

والمُدَاوَمَةُ على ذِكْرِ اللهِ؛ تُوَلِّدُ الأُنْس! ﴿أَلا بِذِكْرِ اللهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ﴾.قَالَ عُثْمَانُ: (لَوْ طَهُرَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ؛ مَا شَبِعْتُمْ مِنْ كَلَامِ الله!).

Consistent remembrance of Allah breeds intimacy. Allah says, "Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured". Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If your hearts were pure, you never have enough of the words of Allah!"

 

والمُحِبُّونَ الصَّادِقُون: ذَاقُوْا طَعْمَ الإِيمَان، والأُنْسَ بالرَّحْمَن! قال ﷺ: (ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ؛ وَجَدَ بِهِنَّ حَلَاوَةَ الإِيمَانِ) وَذَكَرَ مِنْهَا: (أَنْ يَكُونَ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ؛ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِمَّا سِوَاهُمَا).

The sincere lovers taste the sweetness of faith and intimacy with the Most Merciful. The Prophet ﷺsaid, "Three traits, whoever has them, will taste the sweetness of faith," and among them, he mentioned, "To love Allah and His Messenger more than anyone else besides them."

 

وَلَذَّةُ الأُنْسِ، تَأْتِي بَعدَ مُجَاهَدَةِ النَّفْس! قال أَحَدُ السَّلَف: (كَابَدْتُ الصَّلَاةَ عِشْرِيْنَ سَنَة، ثُمَّ تَلَذَّذْتُ بِهَا بَاقِي عُمُرِي!).

The delight of intimacy comes after struggling against the self. One of the predecessors said, "I struggled in prayer for twenty years, then I found delight in it for the rest of my life!"

 

والأُنْسُ بِاللهِ، والانْطِرَاحُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْه: غِذَاءُ الْقُلُوبِ. وَمَنْ قَوِيَ أُنْسُهُ بِالله؛ وَجَدَ تَأْثِيرَهُ في نَفْسِهِ، فَوْقَ تَأْثِيرِ الغِذَاءِ البَدَني! قال ﷺ: (إِنِّي أَبِيْتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي!).  

Intimacy with Allah and relaxation in His presence nourish the hearts. Whoever strengthens his intimacy with Allah experiences its effects within himself, even more than the effects of physical nourishment. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I spend the night while my Rubb provides me with food and drink!"

 

وَمِنْ عَلامَاتِ الأُنْسِ بِالله: الصَّلاةُ الخَاشِعَةُ؛ فَهِيَ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ المُفَرِّحَاتِ الَّتِي تُؤْنِسُ القَلْبَ، وَتَصِلُهُ بِالرَّبِّ! وَلِهَذَا كَانَ ﷺ إِذَا حَزَبَهُ أَمْرٌ؛ فَزِعَ إلى الصَّلَاةِ، ويَقُوْل: (يَا بِلَالُ، أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ، أَرِحْنَا بِهَا!).

And among the signs of companionship with Allah is the humble prayer, for it is one of the greatest sources of joy that bring solace to the heart and connect it with the Lord! Therefore, when a matter troubled the Prophet ﷺ, he hurried to the prayer and would say: 'O Bilal, call the prayer, bring us comfort through it!'

 

وَنَسَائِمُ الأُنْسِ، قَدْ تَأْتِي مِنْ جِهَةِ المَصَائِبِ! قال ابْنُ الجَوزِي: (الحَقُّ ؛ يَغَارُ على قَلْبِ المُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ لَهُ شَيْئًا يَأْنَسُ بِهِ! فَهُوَ يُكَدِّرُ عَلَيْهِ الدُّنْيَا وأَهْلَهَا؛ لِيَكُوْنَ أُنْسُهُ بِه).

And the storms of solace may come from the direction of trials!" Ibn al-Jawzi said: "The truth is that the heart of a believer feels jealous about having something to find solace in. Hence, the world and its people might become distasteful to him, just so that his solace may be in it."

 

أَقُوْلُ قَوْلِي هَذَا، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ لِيْ وَلَكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ؛ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُ الرَّحِيم

الخُطبَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ

الحَمْدُ للهِ عَلَى إِحْسَانِهِ، والشُّكْرُ لَهُ عَلَى تَوْفِيْقِهِ وَامْتِنَانِهِ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُه.

عِبَادَ الله: فِي القَلْبِ وَحْشَةٌ، لا يُزِيلُهَا إِلَّا الأُنْسُ بِاللهِ، وَفِيهِ حُزْنٌ لا يُذْهِبُهُ إِلَّا السُّرُورُ بِمَعْرِفَتِهِ؛ فَإِذَا أَنِسَ النَّاسُ بِأَحْبَابِهِمْ؛ فَاجْعَلْ أُنْسَكَ بِالله، وَإِذَا فَرِحُوا بِالدُّنْيا؛ فَافْرَحْ أَنْتَ بِاللهِ؛ فَيَا لَذَّةَ عَيْشِالمُسْتَأْنِسِيْن، وَيَا خَسَارَةَ المُسْتَوْحِشِيْنَ! ﴿قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُوا هُوَ خَيٌر مِمَّا يجمعُونَ﴾.

Servants of Allah, in the heart there is a lonelinessthat can only be removed by intimacy with Allah, and there is a sadness that can only be dispelled by the joy of knowing Him. So, when people find solace in their loved ones, seek intimacy with Allah. And when they rejoice in the world, rejoice in Allah. Oh, the joy of those who are intimate with Him, and the loss of those who are estranged! Allah says, "Say, 'In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate"

 

هَذَا ، وَصَلُّوا وَسَلِّمُوا عَلَى نَبِيِّكُم كَمَا أَمَرَكُمْ بِذلِكَ رَبُّكُمْ، فَقَالَ: ﴿إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَاَئِكَـتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسْلِيمًا﴾

اللهُمَّ صَلِّ على محمَّدٍ وعلى آلِ محمَّدٍ، كما صليتَ على إبراهيمَ وعلى آلِ إبراهيمَ، إنك حميدٌ مجيدٌ، اللهُمَّ باركْ على محمَّدٍ وعلى آلِ محمَّدٍ، كما بارَكْتَ على إبراهيمَ وعلى آلِ إبراهيمَ، إنك حميدٌ مجيدٌ وسَلِّمْ تسليماً كثيراً.

 

* اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلامَ والمُسْلِمِينَ، وأَذِلَّ الشِّرْكَ والمُشْرِكِيْن.

* اللَّهُمَّ فَرِّجْ هَمَّ المَهْمُوْمِيْنَ، وَنَفِّسْ كَرْبَ المَكْرُوْبِين.

* اللهُمَّ اغفرْ لنا ولوالدِينا، اللهُمَّ إنا نسألك الجنَّةَ ونعوذُ بك من النارِ.

* اللهُمَّ إنَّا نعوذُ بك من الفِتَنِ ما ظَهَرَ منها وما بَطَنَ.

* عِبَادَ الله: ﴿إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ﴾.

* فَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ يَذْكُرْكُمْ، وَاشْكُرُوْهُ على نِعَمِهِ يَزِدْكُمْ ﴿وَلَذِكْرُ اللهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ﴾.
