الخُطْبَةُ الأُوْلَى
إِنَّ الحَمْدَ لِلهِ، نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ، وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ ونَتُوبُ إِلَيه، مَنْ يَهْدِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ، وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ.
أَمَّا بَعْدُ: فَأُوْصِيْكُمْ وَنَفْسِي بِتَقْوَى اللهِ؛ فَهِيَ الزَّادُ في الطَّرِيق، والمَخْرَجُ وَقْتَ الضِّيْق، وَالمِفْتَاحُ لِلْمَغَالِيق؛ ﴿وَتَزَوَّدُوا فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الزَّادِ التَّقْوَى﴾.
I advise you and myself to have Taqwa of Allah, for it is the provision for the journey, the escape in times of difficulty, and the key to all that is locked; as Allah says: "And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is Taqwa of Allah.
عِبَادَ الله: إِنَّهَا الغَايَةُ الَّتي شَمَّرَ إِلَيْهَا المُشَمِّرُونَ، وتَنافَسَ فيهاالمُتَنافِسُونَ، وحُرِمَها الَّذينَ هُمْ عن رَبِّهِمْ مَحجُوبُون، وعن بَابِهِ مَردُودُن؛ إِنَّهَا رُؤْيَةُ اللهِ ﷻ.
O servants of Allah: It is the ultimate goal for which the determined strive, and about which the competitors compete. It is denied to those who are veiled from their Lord and turned away from His door. Indeed, it is the seeing of Allah, Exalted be He.
والنَّظَرُ إلى وَجْهِ اللهِ الكَرِيم: هُوَ أَعْظَمُ نَعِيمٍ؛ وَأَجَلِّ تَكْرِيمٍ! قال ابنُ القَيِّم: (أَعْظَمُ نَعِيمِ الآخِرَةِ على الإِطْلَاقِ: هُوَ النَّظَرُ إلى وَجْهِ الرَّبِّ ﷻ، وأَعْظَمُ الأَسْبَابِ الَّتِي تُحَصِّلُ هَذِهِ اللَّذَّةَ: هِيَمَعرِفَةِ اللهِ وَمَحَبَّتِه؛ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ هُوَ جَنَّةُ الدُّنيا، ونَعِيْمُهَا العَالي، وَنِسْبَةُ لَذَّاتِهَا الفَانِيَةِ إِلَيه: كَتَفْلَةٍ في بَحرٍ!).
Seeing the noble face of Allah is the greatest bliss and the most honorable recognition! Ibn al-Qayyim said, "The greatest pleasure of the Hereafter, without a doubt, is seeing the face of the Lord, Exalted be He, and the greatest means to achieve this pleasure are knowing Allah and loving Him; for that is the paradise of this world, its high pleasure, and its fleeting pleasures compared to it are like a drop in an ocean."
وَرُؤْيَةُ اللهِ: هُوَ مُنْتَهَى نَعِيمِ أَهْلِ الجَنَّةِ، فَإِذَا تَجَلَّى لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ، وَرَأَوْهُرَأْيَ العَيْنِ؛ نَسُوا ما هُمْ فيهِ مِنَ النعيم! قال ﷺ: (إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الجنَّةِ الجنَّةَ، يَقُولُ اللهُ: تُرِيدُونَ شَيْئًا أَزِيدُكُمْ؟ فيقولون: أَلَمْ تُبَيِّضْ وُجُوهَنَا، أَلَمْ تُدْخِلْنَا الجَنَّةَ، وَتُنَجِّنَا مِنَ النَّارِ!فَيَكْشِفُ الْحِجَابَ؛ فَمَا أُعْطُوا شَيْئًا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّظَرِ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ U).
Seeing Allah is the ultimate pleasure for the people of Paradise. When Allah manifests Himself to them, and they see Him with their own eyes, they forget all other delights! The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, Allah will say: 'Do you want anything more?' They will say: 'Have You not made our faces bright? Have You not admitted us into Paradise and saved us from the Fire?' Then He will remove the veil, and nothing will be more beloved to them than looking at their Lord."
وَمِنْ شِدَّةِ البَهْجَةِ واللَّذَّةِ، بِرُؤْيَةِ رَبِّ العِزَّةِ؛ يَظْهَرُ أَثَرُ ذَلِكَ على وُجُوهِأَهْلِ الجَنَّةَ؛ وَحُقَّ لَهُمْ ذَلِك، وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ إلى الخَالِقِ! قال تعالى: ﴿إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ* تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ﴾.
And from the intensity of joy and pleasure at seeing the Lord of Majesty, the effect of this will be visible on the faces of the people of Paradise; and rightly so, as they look upon the Creator! Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure * On adorned couches, observing. * You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure."
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ القَمَرَ لَيْلَةَ البَدْرِ؛ وَالشَّمْسَ في رَابِعَةِ النَّهَارِ، فَتَذَكَّرْرُؤْيَةَ الوَاحِدِ القَهَّارَ؛ فَإِنَّ نَاسًا قَالُوا لِرَسُوْلِ اللهِ ﷺ: (هَلْ نَرَى رَبَّنَا يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ؟) فقال ﷺ: (هَلْ تُضَارُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَةِ القَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ البَدْرِ؟) قالوا: (لَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ) قال: (هَلْ تُضَارُّونَ فِي الشَّمْسِ لَيْسَ دُونَهَا سَحَابٌ؟) قالوا: (لا، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ) قال: (فَإِنَّكُمْ تَرَوْنَهُكَذَلِكَ).
When you see the moon on a full moon night, and the sun at midday, remember seeing the Almighty; for some people asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" He replied, "Do you have difficulty seeing the full moon?" They said, "No, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Do you have difficulty seeing the sun when there are no clouds?" They said, "No, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "You will see Him in the same way."
وَالجَزَاءُ مِنْ جِنْسِ العَمَلِ؛ فَمَنْ أَحْسَنَ العِبَادَةَ، وَأَتْقَنَ الطَّاعَةَ، وَعَبَدَ اللهَكَأَنَّهُ يَرَاه؛ فَإِنَّهُ مَوْعُوْدٌ بِالنَّظَرِ إلى مَوْلَاه! قال I: ﴿لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ﴾.
And the reward corresponds to the deed; so whoever perfects worship and obedience, and worships Allah as if seeing Him, is promised Seeing his Lord! Allah says, "For those who have done good is the best [reward] - and extra."
قال المُفَسِّرُوْن: (الحُسْنَى: هِيَ الجَنَّةُ. وَالزِّيَادَةُ: هِيَ النَّظَرُ إِلَى وَجْهِ الرَّحْمَنِ).
The commentators say: "The best reward is Paradise, and the extra is seeing the face of the Merciful."
وَمِنْ أَسْبَابِ النَّظَرِ إِلَى وَجْهِ اللهِ: المُحَافَظَةُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ "الفَجرِ والعَصرِ"؛ قال ﷺ: (إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ، كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا القَمَرَ، لاَ تُضَامُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لاَ تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلاَةٍ: قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ، وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا؛ فَافْعَلُوا): أَيْ إِنِ اسْتَطَعتُمْ أَنْ تَأْتُوا بِصَلَاةِ "الفَجرِ والعَصرِ" في جَمَاعَةٍفَافْعَلُوا.
Among the means to see the face of Allah are maintaining the prayers of Fajr and Asr; the Prophet ﷺsaid: "You will see your Lord as you see this moon, and you will have no trouble in seeing Him. So if you cannot be overwhelmed in a prayer before sunrise and before sunset, then do so" - meaning: if you are able to perform the Fajr and Asr prayers in congregation, then do so.
وَمِنْ أَسْبَابِ رُؤْيَةِ اللهِ ﷻ: التَّبْكِيرُ إلى صَلَاةِ الجُمُعَةِ. قال ابنُمَسْعُودٍ t: (سَارِعُوا إِلَى الجُمَعِ؛ فَإِنَّ اللهَ U يَبْرُزُ إِلَى أَهْلِ الجَنَّةِ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ، فِي كَثِيبٍ مِنْ كَافُورٍ؛ فَيَكُونُوا مِنَ الْقُرْبِ،عَلَى قَدْرِ تَسَارُعِهِمْ إِلَى الجُمُعَةِ!).
And among the means of seeing Allah, Exalted be He, is arriving early for the Friday prayer. Ibn Mas'ud said, "Hasten to Friday prayer; for Allah appears to the people of Paradise every Friday on a hill of Kaphoor; and their closeness to Him is according to their haste to the Friday prayer!"
وأَعْظَمُ الحِرْمَان: أَنْ يُحْجَبَ الإنسانُ، عَنْ رُؤْيَةِ الرَّحْمَنِ! وَلَمَّا حَجَبَ الكُفَّارُ أَنْفُسَهُمْ في الدُّنيا عَنْ تَوحِيدِ اللهِ وطَاعَتِهِ؛ حَجَبَهُمُ اللهُ في الآخِرَةِ عَنْ رُؤْيَتِهِ في جَنَّاتِهِ!
And the greatest deprivation is to be prevented from seeing the Merciful. When the disbelievers in this world deprived themselves of the oneness of Allah and obedience to Him, Allah deprive them in the Hereafter from seeing Him in His Gardens!
قال تعالى: ﴿كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ* كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ﴾. قال ابنُ القَيِّم: (عَذَابُالحِجَابِ عنِ الله: أَعْظَمُ مِنِ الْتِهَابِ النَّارِ في أَجْسَامِهِمْ!).
Allah says, "No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of what they were earning * No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned." Ibn al-Qayyim said, "The punishment of being prevented from Allah is greater than the agony of fire burning their bodies."
أَقُوْلُ قَوْلِي هَذَا، وَأسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ لِيْ وَلَكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ؛ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُ الرَّحِيم
الخُطْبَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ
الحَمْدُ للهِ عَلَى إِحْسَانِهِ، والشُّكْرُ لَهُ عَلَى تَوْفِيْقِهِ وَامْتِنَانِه، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاإِلَهَ إِلَّا الله، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُه.
أَمَّا بَعْدُ: فَإِنَّ مَنْ أَخْلَصَ التَّوْحِيدَ للهِ، وَأَرَادَ بِعَمَلِهِ وَجْهَ اللهِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ مَوْعُودٌ بِرُؤْيَةِ اللهِ! ﴿فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا﴾.
As for what follows: Indeed, whoever dedicates their monotheism to Allah, and aims with their deeds at the face of Allah, is promised Seeing Allah! "So, whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone."
قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بن المبارك: (مَنْ أَرَادَ النَّظَرَ إِلَى وَجْهِ خَالِقِهِ؛ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا، وَلَا يُخْبِرْ بِهِ أَحَدًا).
Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak said, "Whoever wishes to look upon the face of his Creator, let him do righteous work and tell no one about it."
ولا يُدْرَكُ النَّعِيْمُ إِلَّا بِتَرْكِ النَّعِيمِ؛ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَنَعَّمَ بِرُؤْيَةِ اللهِ الكَرِيم، في دَارِ النَّعِيم؛ فَلَا بُدَّ أَنْ يَصْبِرَ على طَاعَةِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وأنْ يَقْبِضَ على جَمْرَةِ الإِيمان!
And bliss cannot be achieved except by renouncing comfort; so whoever wishes to enjoy seeing the Noble Allah in the abode of bliss, must endure in obeying the Most Merciful and hold onto the embers of faith!
قال ابنُ القَيِّم: (الشَّوْقُ إِلَى لِقَاءِ اللهِ: مِنْ أَجَلِّ العَطَايَا وَالمَوَاهِبِ؛ ولا يَحْصُلُ إِلَّا بَعْدَ امْتِحَانٍ وَاخْتِبَارٍ!).
Ibn al-Qayyim said, "The longing to meet Allah is among the greatest gifts and blessings; and it occurs only after trial and testing."
وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللهِ، وَاشْتَاقَ إلى رُؤْيَتِهِ؛ هَانَ عَلَيهِ كُلَّ تَكْلِيفٍ، وَلَمْ يَعُدْ أَسِيرًا لِشَهْوَةٍ مُحَرَّمَةِ، أو فِتْنَةٍ مُغْرِيَةٍ! قال تعالى: ﴿وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى﴾.
And whoever loves to meet Allah and longs to see Him, will find all obligations light, and will no longer be a prisoner to forbidden desires or tempting tribulations! Allah says, "And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. But the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring."

* اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ لَذَّةَ النَّظَرِ إِلَى وَجْهِكَ، وَالشَّوْقَ إِلَى لِقَائِكَ فِي غَيْرِ ضَرَّاءَ مُضِرَّةٍ، وَلا فِتْنَةٍ مُضِلَّةٍ.
* اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلامَ والمُسْلِمِينَ، وأَذِلَّ الشِّرْكَ والمُشْرِكِيْن.
* اللَّهُمَّ فَرِّجْ هَمَّ المَهْمُوْمِيْنَ، وَنَفِّسْ كَرْبَ المَكْرُوْبِين.
* عِبَادَ الله: ﴿إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالمُنْكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ﴾.
* فَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ يَذْكُرْكُمْ، وَاشْكُرُوْهُ على نِعَمِهِ يَزِدْكُمْ ﴿وَلَذِكْرُ اللهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ﴾.
