الْثِّقَةُ بِاللَّه

Trust in Allah

الْخُطْبَةُ الأُوْلَى

إِنَّ الحَمْدَ لِلهِ، نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ، وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ ونَتُوبُ إِلَيه، مَنْ يَهْدِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ، وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَ لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ.

All praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, seek His assistance, ask for His forgiveness, and turn to Him in repentance. Whomever Allah guides, there is none who can lead him astray, and whomever He allows to go astray, there is none who can guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

أَمَّا بَعْدُ: فَأُوْصِيْكُمْ وَنَفْسِي بِتَقْوَى اللهِفي السِرِّ والعَلَنِ، فَالتَّقْوَى: هِيَ طَوْقُ النَّجَاةِ مِنَ المِحَنِ، وَالعَاصِمَةُ مِنَ الفِتَنِ! ﴿يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ تَتَّقُوا اللهَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ فُرْقَانًا﴾.

As for what follows: I advise you and myself to fear Allah in private and in public. Taqwa is the means of salvation from trials and the shield from tribulations. 'O you who have believed, if you fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion.'

 

 

عِبَادَ الله: إِنَّهَا خُلاصَةُ التَّوَكُّلِ،وَمَدَارُ التَّفْوِيضِ، وَأَصْلُ التَّسْلِيم، وَحَقِيْقَةُ الاِسْتِعَانَة؛ إِنَّهَا الثِّقَةُبِالله! ﴿إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ﴾.

Servants of Allah, trust in Allah is the essence of reliance, the basis of delegation, the foundation of submission, and the reality of seeking help. 'You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.'

 

 

 

 

 

والثِّقَةُ بِدِيْنِ اللهِ؛ تَبْعَثُ العِزَّةَالإِسْلامِيِّة، وَتَدْفَعُ الهَزِيمَةَ النَّفْسِيَّة!﴿وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَإِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِيْنَ﴾. قال الأَلُوْسِي:(الإِيمانُ يُوْجِبُ قُوَّةَ القَلْبِ،وَمَزِيْدَ الثِّقَةِ باللهِ، وَعَدَمَ المَبَالاةِبِأَعْدَائِه!).

Confidence in the religion of Allah fosters Islamic strength and repels psychological defeat. 'So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.' Al-Alousi said: 'Faith entails strengthening the heart, increasing trust in Allah, and not being indifferent to one's enemies.'

 

وَمِنْ عَلامَاتِ الثِّقَةِ بِاللَّهِ؛ حُسْنُ الظَّنِّ بِهِ!قال تعالى: (أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي؛فَلْيَظُنَّ بِي مَا شَاءَ!).

One of the signs of trust in Allah is having good expectations of Him. Allah, the Exalted, said: 'I am as My servant thinks I am. Let him think of Me as he wishes!'

 

والثِّقَةُ بِاللهِ: هِيَ حِصْنُ الأَمَان؛ مِنَالمَخَاوفِ والأَحْزَان؛ فَمَنْ أَرَادَ الهُرُوبَ مِنْ ضِيْقِ الهُمُومِ؛ فَلْيَخْرُجْ إِلَى فَضَاءِ الثِّقَةِ بِالله؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا هَمَّ مَعَ اللهِ! ﴿وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ﴾. أَيْكَافِي مَنْ يَثِقُ بِهِ: كُلَّ مَا أَهَمَّهُ! قال ابنُالقَيِّم: (فَإِنَّهُ لَا أَشْرَحَ لِلصَّدْرِ، وَلَا أَوْسَعَ لَهُ -بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ-: مِنْ ثِقَتِهِ بِاللهِ، وَرَجَائِهِ لَهُ، وَحُسْنِ ظَنِّهِ بِهِ).

Trust in Allah is the fortress of security from fears and sorrows. Whoever wishes to escape from the narrowness of worries, let them go out into the vastness of trust in Allah, for there is no worry with Him. 'And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him.' Meaning, He is sufficient for whoever trusts Him: everything concerning them. Ibn al-Qayyim said, 'For there is no relaxation for the heart, and no relief for it, after faith, like one's trust in Allah, their hope in Him, and their good expectations of Him.'

 

والثِّقَةُ بِالله؛ جَعَلَتْ أُمَّ مُوسَى تُلْقِي بِهِ في البَحْر! ﴿فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَأَلْقِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحْزَنِي﴾، ولَوْلَا ثِقَتُهَا بِرَبِّهَا؛ لَمَا أَلْقَتْ بِوَلَدِهَا؛ لأَنَّهَا وَثِقَتْ بِوَعْدِ اللهِ حِينَ قال: ﴿إِنَّا رَادُّوهُ إِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ﴾.

Trust in Allah caused the mother of Moses to throw him into the sea. 'And when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve.' If it were not for her trust in her Lord, she would not have cast her child, because she trusted in the promise of Allah when He said, 'We will return him to you and make him [one] of the messengers.'

 

والثِّقَةُ بِاللهِ؛ تَكْبُرُ بِالصَّلاةِ، فَيَصْغُرُمَعَهَا كُلُّ هَلَعٍ وَجَزَعٍ وَفَزَع! ﴿إِنَّ الْإِنْسانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا* إِذا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا* وَإِذا مَسَّهُ الخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا إِلَّا المُصَلِّينَ﴾.

Trust in Allah grows with prayer, so with it, every panic, anxiety, and fright diminish. 'Indeed, mankind was created anxious: when evil touches him, impatient, and when good touches him, withholding [of it], except the observers of prayer.'

 

 

 

 

 

والوَاثِقُ بِالرَّحْمَن، يَعِيشُ في سَكِينَةٍ وَأَمَانٍ، بَعِيْدًا عن التَّشَاؤُمِ والأَحْزَانِ، وَخُرَافَاتِ الكُهَّان، وَوَسَاوسِ الشَّيْطَان!قال تعالى: ﴿الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ* وَاللهُ يَعِدُكُمْ مَغْفِرَةً مِنْهُ وَفَضْلًا﴾.

The one who trusts in the Most Merciful lives in tranquility and security, far from pessimism and sorrows, and the superstitions of fortune-tellers, and the whispers of Satan. Allah, the Exalted, said: 'Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty.'

 

قال أَبُو حَازِم: (لِي مَالَانِ لَا أَخْشَى مَعَهُمَا الْفَقْرَ: الثِّقَةُ بِاللهِ، وَالْيَأْسُ مِمَّا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ).

Abu Hazim said: 'I possess wealth with which I do not fear poverty: trust in Allah and despair of what is in the hands of people.'

 

والوَاثِقُ بِاللهِ: تُصِيْبُهُ المُصِيْبَة: فَيَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا مِنْ عِنْدِ الله؛ فَيَرْضَى ويُسَلِّم! لِأَنَّهُ يَثِقُ بِتَدْبِيرِ الله؛ ﴿مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ إِلا بِإِذْنِ اللهِ وَمَنْ يُؤْمِنْ بِاللهِ يَهْدِ قَلْبَهُ﴾.

The one who trusts in Allah, when afflicted by a calamity, knows that it is from Allah, so they are content and submit. Because they trust in the arrangement of Allah, 'No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart’.

والثِّقَةُ باللهِ؛ هُوَ الجَيْشُ الَّذِي لا يُقْهَر! فَهَذَا مُوْسَى عليه السلام: العَدُوُّ خَلْفَه، والبَحْرُ أَمَامَه، وأَصْحَابُهُ يُنَادُون: ﴿إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ﴾، فَأَجَابَهُمْ مُوْسَى جَوابَ الوَاثِقِين: ﴿كَلَّا إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِين﴾.

Trust in Allah is the army that cannot be defeated. Thus, this was Moses when the enemy was behind him and the sea was in front of him, and his companions were calling out, 'Indeed, we are to be overtaken!' Moses responded to them with the response of those who trust: 'No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.'

وَمَنْ حَقَّقَ الثِّقَةَ بِالله؛ اِسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ هَمَّ الرِّزْق؛ قال حَاتِمُ الأَصَمُّ: (عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ رِزْقِي لاَ يَأْكُلُهُ غَيْرِي، فَاطْمَأَنَّتْ بِهِ نَفْسِي!).

And whoever truly attains trust in Allah finds relief from the worries of sustenance. Hatim al-Asammsaid, 'I knew that my sustenance is not to be consumed by anyone but me, so my soul found contentment in it!'

والوَاثِقُونَ بِالله: يَعْمَلُونَ بِالأَسْبَاب،وَيَتَعَلَّقُونَ بِرَبِّ الأَرْباب؛ قال ﷻ: ﴿نِعْمَ أَجْرُ العَامِلِينَ* الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ﴾.

And those who trust in Allah work with means and rely on the Lord of lords. Allah, may He be glorified, said: 'Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers who have patience and trust in their Lord.'

 

 

 

وَمَنْ وَضَعَ ثِقَتَهُ كُلَّهَا بِالمَخْلُوقِ، أَوْ تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْه؛ خَابَ ظَنُّهُ فِيه! قال ﷺ: (مَنْ تَعَلَّقَ شَيْئًا؛ وُكِلَ إِلَيْه!).

And whoever places all of his trust in the creation or relies upon it, his expectation in it will be disappointed. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, 'Whoever relies on something will be entrusted to it!'

 

 

 

 

والوَاثِقُونَ بِالله؛ يَطْلُبْونَ رِضَى الحَقِّ؛ ولا يَتَعَلَّقُونَ بِالخَلْقِ؛ لأنَّ مَنْ أَصْلَحَ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ اللهِ؛ أَصْلَحَ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ! يَقُولُ الشَّافِعِيُّ: (رِضَى النَّاسِ غَايَةٌ لَا تُدْرَكُ! فَعَلَيْكَ بِمَا يُصْلِحُكَ فَالْزَمْهُ).

And those who trust in Allah seek the pleasure of the Truth and do not depend on the creation, for whoever rectifies their relationship with Allah rectifies their relationship with people. Al-Shafi'i said, 'The satisfaction of people is an unattainable goal! So adhere to what rectifies you.'

 

والوَاثِقُونَ بِالله؛ لا يَثِقُونَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ!لأَنَّ القُلُوبَ ضَعِيْفَة، والشُّبَهَ خَطّافَة.والحَيُّ لا تُؤْمَنُ عَلَيْهِ الفِتْنَة! قال ﷺ: (الْأَعْمَال بِالخَوَاتِيم).

And those who trust in Allah do not rely on their own deeds, because hearts are weak, and doubts are deceptive. The living are not secure from tribulation." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Actions are judged by their conclusions”.

 

 

وَالثِّقَةُ بِالله: سَبَبٌ لِقَبُولِ الدُّعَاء!قال ﷺ: (اُدْعُوا اللهَ وَأَنْتُمْ مُوقِنُونَ بِالْإِجَابَةِ).

Trust in Allah is a reason for the acceptance of supplication. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, 'Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered.'

 

والثِّقَةُ بِالله؛ تَدْفَعُ إلى العَطَاءِ؛ ﴿فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى وَصَدَّقَ بِالحُسْنَى﴾. قَالَ المُفَسِّرُون: (صَدَّقَ بِمَوْعُودِ اللهِالَّذِي وَعَدَهُ أَنْ يُثِيبَهُ، وأَيْقَنَ أَنَّ اللهَسَيُخْلِفُه!).

And trust in Allah leads to giving, 'As for he who gives and fears Allah and believes in the best [reward],' The interpreters said, 'He believed in the promise of Allah, which He had promised to reward him, and he was certain that Allah would fulfill it.'

 

والثِّقَةُ بِالله: هِيَ الحَبْلُ المَتِيْن،والحِصْنُ الحَصِيْن! فَمَنْ وَثِقَ بِرَبِّه؛هَدَاهُ إِلى رُشْدِه! قال تعالى: ﴿وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِاللهِ فَقَدْ هُدِىَ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مّسْتَقِيمٍ﴾.

Trust in Allah is the firm rope and the fortified fortress. Whoever trusts in his Lord is guided to the right path. Allah, the Exalted, said, 'And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path.’

 

 

قالَ أَبُوْ العَالِيَة: (الِاعْتِصَامُ: الثِّقَةُ بِاللهِ!).

وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُوْنَ أَغْنَى النَّاسِ؛فَلْيَكُنْ بِمَا في يَدِ اللهِ، أَوْثَقَ مِمَّا في يَدِيْهِ! قال تعالى: ﴿مَا عِنْدَكُمْ يَنْفَدُ وَمَا عِنْدَ اللهِ بَاقٍ﴾.

Abu Al-A'lia said, 'Holding firmly refers to trust in Allah!' And whoever wants to be the richest of people, let them consider what is in the hand of Allah to be more secure than what is in their own hand. Allah, the Exalted, said, 'What is with you will be exhausted, but what is with Allah is enduring.'

 

 

 

الوَاثِقُ باللهِ؛ لا يَحْسُدُ أَحَدًا على حُطَامِ الدُّنْيَا؛ لأَنَّهُ يَثِقُ بَقِسْمَةِ اللهِ، وأَنَّ الدُّنْيَا فَانِيَة! ﴿اللهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ وَفَرِحُوا بِالحَياةِ الدُّنْيا وَمَا الحَياةُ الدُّنْيا فِي الآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتاعٌ﴾.

The one who trusts in Allah does not envy anyone for the debris of this world because they trust in the division of Allah and know that the worldly life is short enjoyment. 'Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.'

 

 

أَقُوْلُ قَوْلِي هَذَا، وَاسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ لِيْ وَلَكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ؛ فَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُورُ الرَّحِيم

 

 

الخُطْبَةُ الثَّانِيَة

 

الحَمْدُ للهِ عَلَى إِحْسَانِه، والشُّكْرُ لَهُ عَلَىتَوْفِيْقِهِ وَامْتِنَانِه، وَأَشْهَدُ أَلَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُه.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

عِبَادَ الله: الثِّقَةُ بِالله؛ تَثْبُتُ بِالعِلْمِوالإِيمَان، وَطَاعَةِ الرَّحْمَن، وَتَهْتَزُّبِالشَّهَواتِ والشُّبُهَات! ﴿فَفِرُّوا إِلَى الله﴾، وَتَسَلَّحُوا بِالصَّبْرِواليَقِيْنِ، والفِقْهِ في الدِّيْن،﴿وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِاللهِ هُوَ مَوْلَاكُمْ فَنِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ﴾.

Servants of Allah, trust in Allah is established by knowledge and faith, obedience to the Most Merciful, and it falters with desires and doubts. 'So flee to Allah.' Equip yourselves with patience and certainty, and with understanding in the religion, 'And rely upon Allah; He is your protector, and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.'

* اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلامَ والمُسْلِمِينَ، وأَذِلَّ الشِّرْكَ والمُشْرِكِيْن.

* اللَّهُمَّ فَرِّجْ هَمَّ المَهْمُوْمِيْنَ، وَنَفِّسْ كَرْبَ المَكْرُوْبِين.

* عِبَادَ الله: ﴿إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَى وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالمُنْكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ﴾.

* فَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ يَذْكُرْكُمْ، وَاشْكُرُوْهُ على نِعَمِهِ يَزِدْكُمْ ﴿وَلَذِكْرُ اللهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ﴾.
