[FONT=중] Islam means peace, the word Islam is from [/FONT]Allah’s[FONT=중] noble [/FONT]name and character (Al-salam) as He said in noble Quraan[FONT=중] (-59-23/ He [/FONT]is Allah beside whom none has the right to be worshipped but He, the King, the Holy, the One free from all defects “the peace"), then Allah ordered all believers to follow the path of peace by saying (-2-208/ O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam “Peace") “by obeying[FONT=중] all the rules and regulations of the Islamic Religion[FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중] and follow [/FONT][/FONT]not[FONT=중] the footsteps of Satan, verily! He is to you an open enemy) -[/FONT].
The word Silm[FONT=중] and [/FONT]Salaam[FONT=중] in Arabic is one thing: which is the security that comes from faith and belief in Allah, the one and only God, and the comfort in following the beautiful orders and teachings that Allah called [/FONT]Al-salam[FONT=중] in which you will find peace and security.[/FONT]
Islam is the religion of Allah as He said in the noble Quraan[FONT=중] ([/FONT]-3-19/[FONT=중] Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam). This religion contains the teachings of Allah to His creatures, He [/FONT]perfected[FONT=중] its fair rules that brings total peace and security to all mankind, as well as containing the means of man[FONT=중]’[/FONT][FONT=중]s happiness, as Allah said in the noble [/FONT][/FONT]Quraan: (-5-3/ this day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.), and it’s the advice of Prophets Ibrahim and Jacob, as was said in the noble Quraan[FONT=중] (-2-132/ and this [FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]submission to Allah, Islam was enjoined[/FONT][FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중] by Ibrahim [Abraham] upon his sons and by [Jacob] [/FONT][FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]saying[/FONT][FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중] O my sons! Allah has chosen for you the true religion, then die not except in the faith of Islam [/FONT][FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]as Muslims- Islamic [/FONT][/FONT]Monotheism"). And Allah said (-2-136/ Say “O Muslims, We believe in Allah and that which[FONT=중] has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim [Abraham], [/FONT]Ismail[FONT=중] [[/FONT]Ishmael], Ishaq[FONT=중] [Isaac], and to Al-Asbat[the offspring of the twelve sons of [Jacob],and that which has been given to [Moses] and [/FONT]I[FONT=중][Jesus], and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction [/FONT]between any[FONT=중] of them, and to Him we have submitted [FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]in Islam[/FONT][FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중].[/FONT][/FONT]
2. Freedom of Expression and Belief
The principle of peace can not prevail without equal rights. Even if people differ in faith, the secure, peaceful, and fair life is the right of everyone. Man can not live in Peace and security unless he practices his faith freely without forcing him to do what he dislikes. Islam guarantees[FONT=중] freedom of faith to all peoples. It has been proved in noble [/FONT]Quraan[FONT=중] before fifteen centuries as Allah said (there is no compulsion in religion), because religion has faith and it can only be reached by content and tranquility, the freedom of faith for [/FONT]individual[FONT=중] and group can not be achieved unless be chosen freely with satisfaction to show the just of Allah in the day of judgment, where He will reward those who chose the right faith with Paradise and punish the infidel by hell fire, and your Lord treats no one with injustice. And in this life Allah said (for every nation there is a direction to which they face [in their prayers] so hasten towards all that is good), so every nation or person has a faith that he will be accounted for, and we have no way but to convey the [/FONT]clear[FONT=중] [/FONT]message. Allah said (Do ye [also] submit yourselves? If they do, they are in right guidance, but if turn back, the duty is to convey the message). Allah ordered his messenger[FONT=중] to say to infidels (To you be your way, and to me mine). In this verse, Allah clearly gives the freedom of faith with no compulsion or force, although he warns from [/FONT]choosing[FONT=중] disbelief in him, by [/FONT]saying[FONT=중] (But whoever [/FONT]changes[FONT=중] from faith to unbelief hath [/FONT]strayed[FONT=중] without doubt from the even way). And he also said (but such as open their breast to unbelief, on them is wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful penalty). This is the rule of Allah in the hereafter, but in this [/FONT]life each[FONT=중] person has the right to choose his own faith, Islam has given all peoples, Christians, Buddhists, etc to practice their acts worship as some [/FONT]western[FONT=중] [/FONT]philosophers[FONT=중] testifies, R. Wood [/FONT]Sordid[FONT=중] (the [/FONT]Quraan[FONT=중] has allowed non-Muslims to practice their faith freely, and called for [/FONT]their equal[FONT=중] rights like [/FONT]Muslims.
3. Peace is the Greeting of the Faithful
At the end of each prayer, Muslims end their worship by Saying Alsalam Aleekum. In order to strengthen peace in Muslims faith, Allah ordered them to make peace their greeting when they meet and separate. Allah said (their greeting on the day they shall meet Him will be "Salam" : Peace). And He said (But when you enter the houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah say: Asslamu[FONT=중] [/FONT]Alaikum[FONT=중] - peace be on you).[/FONT]
4. The greeting of Dwellers of Paradise
Stressing the importance of maintaining peace among mankind[FONT=중] on earth, Allah rewards those who stick to this [/FONT]principle[FONT=중] by entering paradise, and makes peace their greeting, as He said (They will call dwellers of Paradise [FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]Peace be on you[/FONT][FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중]). He also said (To dwell there in forever in [/FONT][FONT=중]Paradise[/FONT][FONT=중], with the [/FONT][/FONT]permission[FONT=중] of their Lord, their greeting therein [/FONT]will[FONT=중] be [/FONT]Salam[FONT=중] [FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]Peace[/FONT][FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중]).[/FONT][/FONT]
5. Islam is Peace for Mankind
Islam has ordered[FONT=중] all human beings to spread peace, as It holds the key to mankind security and happiness, prophet Mohammed ([/FONT]s.a.w) said (O people, spread peace among[FONT=중] you), so he addressed all people, not only Muslims, and he preferred the one who started the [/FONT]greeting[FONT=중] with peace, as he ([/FONT]s.a.w.) said (the best of you is the one who starts greeting his friend with salam “Peace").
6. Peace on Earth
Islamic scholars have confirmed that: peace is the aim of Islam and its objective on earth. Allah said (For them will be the home of peace “Paradise" with their Lord). And He said (Allah calls to home of peace Paradise by accepting[FONT=중] [/FONT]Allah’s[FONT=중] religion of Islamic [/FONT]Monotheism), and said (It was said: O Nuh[FONT=중] [Noah]! Come dawn [from the ship] with peace from us and blessings on [/FONT]you).
Peace practically means to treat all people equally, justly and give them freedom, away from the bad greediness of humans. Peace can never match its meaning if it works for the interests of one party without taking into account the other party’s[FONT=중] interests, and then it will be injustice. Allah said (But if they incline to peace, you also [/FONT]incline[FONT=중] to it, and [put your] trust in Allah. Verily He is the All- Healer, the All Knower).[/FONT]
Part of peace is to spread security and comfort, put an end to fears and uneasiness among individuals and groups, forbid invading another’s[FONT=중] rights and to infringe upon others, and forbid the killing of a person without legal right. Allah said (If anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or [and] to spread mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed [/FONT]all mankind). So taking a human life is forbidden in Islam, and whoever kills a single person with no legal[FONT=중] right, would be as if he killed all mankind.[/FONT]
Islam ordered[FONT=중] Muslims to better treat their enemies, while maintaining their pride and [/FONT]dignity, and not to exchange[FONT=중] with them the animosity they have, as they may return back to their [/FONT]senses[FONT=중] and stop the injustice and animosity. Allah said (Allah orders the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly, the verily he, between whom and you there was enmity [FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]will become[/FONT][FONT=중]"[/FONT][FONT=중] as though he was a close friend). And this will be achieved through better treatment, which will change the clever enemy into a very close and dear friend. [/FONT][/FONT]Islam[FONT=중] orders us to be just and fair in treating all people. [/FONT]
7 . Islam Forbids Transgression[FONT=중] and Helping One Another in Committing It[/FONT]
[FONT=중] Allah [/FONT]ordered[FONT=중] us to help one another in virtue and good deeds by saying) Help you one another in virtue, righteousness and piety), and Islam has given clear proofs and evidences that transgression is unacceptable and sinful, as He said (But do not help one another in sin and transgression), and Allah has completely forbidden helping one another in transgression and evil. Allah said (And [/FONT]transgress[FONT=중] not [/FONT]verily, Allah does not like the transgressors).
8. Peace is Mankind’s Right
The peace that Allah[FONT=중] has [/FONT]ordered[FONT=중] in his religion is based on [/FONT]maintaining[FONT=중] freedom for all on the basis of equality and justice, without giving more care to the rich and [/FONT]powerful, but to care for the rights of all people to all kinds of freedoms that takes into account[FONT=중] good manners and understanding. One Islamic believe of freedom is [FONT=중]“[/FONT][FONT=중]your freedom starts when other[/FONT][FONT=중]’[/FONT][FONT=중]s freedom ends, and ends when their freedom starts), so this means no body has the right to interfere in the freedom of other prior to his/their permission. Another very well understood fact of freedom, which is truly Islamic, is how could you put people into [/FONT][/FONT]slavery[FONT=중] when they were born free. [/FONT]
10 . Rule of Peace opponent
The transgressors and arrogant who[FONT=중] translate the meaning of peace to match their desires and racism, and do not stand with the right if this right is for a weak person, and refuse the principle of fair peace i[/FONT]f[FONT=중] it contradicts with their desires and racism, these kind of people treat themselves with injustice and [/FONT]oppress[FONT=중] others as well. Allah has prepared for them severe punishment in hell fire. He [/FONT]also[FONT=중] [/FONT]ordered[FONT=중] us to avoid them as they deny human rights. [/FONT]

I would like to end the khutbah by reminding everyone that the end of this Blessed and Holy month is coming to an end, we have less than 2 weeks left to ask forgiveness from Allah SW. We must increase our supplication and our worship, and we must give and increase charity to the ones who are needy. Brothers and Sisters, this Sunday is beginning of the last 10 days of the Holy month Ramadan, when Leilat Al Qadr(Night of Power) will be revealed, which is better than a thousand months. May Allah except our supplication, and fast and worship and have mercy on our souls. Amin

Brothers and Sisters, many of you have watched the News on TV and many you have read the news in the Newpaper about the hate crime that has taken place for the past week in Masjid Madera, and has been the center of the news media where posters placed by ignorant individual or individuals accusing us of being Terrorists. As a reminder to the Muslims and Non Muslims that the word ISLAM means Peace, the Religion of Alllah.
